Disable "React" button?

I'm using the latest (6.4.12) version on macOS, and today I noticed a new heart "React" button. How do I get rid of this? I've already disabled "reactions" both in the account level and in the user level, but this annoying button keeps appearing.

The button will still appear because it includes "raise hand", but the emoji reactions should be gone. If not show a screen shot. You can also drag the button to the more menu if you need the button to "disappear".
