Hey everyone,
I'm Darshan Hiranandani, I’ve run into an issue when using my AirPods Pro to mute and unmute myself during Zoom meetings on my MacBook. When I press the call control button (one press by default), I receive the error message, "Can't control mic with AirPods Pro." It works just fine when I use my AirPods Pro with Zoom on my iPhone or iPad, but not on my Mac.
Has anyone encountered this problem and found a way to get it working on a Mac? I really rely on this feature for productivity, especially when the Zoom window is out of view, and it’s difficult to unmute quickly.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much!
Regards
Darshan Hiranandani

Hello Darshan my name is Megha. This issue arises because the macOS version of Zoom does not currently support the AirPods Pro’s call control button for muting and unmuting. While it works seamlessly on iPhones and iPads, this limitation is specific to Mac. A workaround could be to use Zoom’s keyboard shortcuts (e.g., Shift+Command+A to mute/unmute) for quick mic control on Mac or check for updates in both Zoom and macOS that may add support in the future. Additionally, ensuring your AirPods Pro firmware and macOS are up-to-date might help if updates include related fixes.
