Cannot find location to change audio e.g. original sound and background noise supp., in my settings

I have had Zoom Workplace Pro for a number of years.  In the past, I could adjust my audio settings in order to sound a bell (like a musical instrument) and it could be heard by participants.  I either changed the background noise suppression, or used original sound.  I have not changed the settings in over a year, but suddenly other participants could no longer hear the bell.  When I tried to look at the settings, I could no longer find any option to adjust the audio -- either background noise suppression or original sound.  I followed a recent zoom tutorial which showed exactly what I wanted, but it is NOT  listed as an option on my settings list!

Any thoughts?

Hello @Cillamarie,

Welcome to the Zoom Community! We're glad to have you here.

Here are some troubleshooting steps to help you restore these options:

  1. Update Your Zoom Client

    • Make sure you are running the latest version of the Zoom desktop app. Outdated versions may not display all available audio settings.
    • To update, open Zoom, click your profile picture (top right), and select “Check for Updates.”
  2. Check Audio Settings in the Zoom App

    • Open the Zoom desktop app.
    • Click your profile picture > Settings > Audio.
    • Look for “Suppress background noise” and “Music and Professional Audio.”
    • If you see “Music and Professional Audio,” enable “Show in-meeting option to enable ‘Original Sound’.”
    • If you don’t see these options, continue to the next steps.
  3. Enable Advanced Audio Settings on the Web Portal

    • Go to https://zoom.us/profile/setting and sign in.
    • Under the “Meeting” tab, scroll to the “In Meeting (Advanced)” section.
    • Look for “Allow users to select original sound in their client settings” and make sure it’s enabled.
    • Also, check for “High fidelity music mode” and “Echo cancellation” options and enable them if available.
  4. Restart Zoom

    • After making changes, restart the Zoom app to see if the settings appear.
  5. Check for Admin Restrictions

    • If you’re on a managed account (e.g., through work or school), your admin may have restricted access to certain audio features. If so, contact your Zoom admin to confirm.
  6. Try a Different Device

    • If possible, log in to Zoom on another computer to see if the settings appear there. This can help determine if the issue is device-specific.

If you follow these steps and still don’t see the audio options, let me know which step didn’t work or if you see any error messages.
