On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

Can I assign meeting host role without sharing account email and password?

Someone in our organization needs to run a meeting on a weekly basis. I've set up the meeting but will not be attending. This individual is not a licensed user of the zoom software and I do not want to share the account email and password. Is there some way to give him host privileges without giving him this information?

Hi @SPV

There is no easy way to do this without them being licensed.

The easiest way would be to provide them your Host key, which can be found on your Profile page. This would allow them to claim your host role in the session when there is no host recognized. That being said, they should be careful, as having your host key gives them the ability to take host control in any of your meetings. If you get to a point where they no longer need to host in your place, I highly recommend changing your host key.

Hope that helps and please make sure to mark the solution as accepted if this information is what you needed.

Hi,

You can get the Meeting started and then pass the Host role to any Participant who joins - even an unlicensed user. You can then leave the meeting and leave the new Host in control.

You will not be able to start another meeting while the first meeting is still in progress.

Hope this helps.
