Camera flickering

Hi

i downloaded the newest Version of zoom yesterday and since then have had issues with the camera when on zoom. This is the case for multiple cameras - it sticks and flickers and the only thing I can do is turn it off and on yet it does the same after a few moments so the process is repeated.  It flickers and goes bright and crazy! I have never had a problem like this before.

I have the same problem on multiple browsers on my laptop.
I have the same issue on different cameras on the same device.
My camera works on Skype and Facebook video call but not zoom.
i have checked the flicker frequency on zoom and it is 50 hz.

What has happened and can you offer any advice please?

Thank you!

My wife did the same. The camera flickered after downloading a Zoom update. After testing, we found the problem. Go to Video, and then Advanced. Uncheck "Optimize video quality with de-noise". It worked for her, and it might for you.

Hi All! I have been informed that version 5.13.5, which was release just now, should resolve the video glitches observed in the previous releases. Hope this helps!

Flicker problem started after updating Zoom client.

PC has latest firmware and drivers for video etc.

Processor diagnostics run, all functions normal.

Flicker problem is only with Zoom.

Other video systems such as Skype work smoothly.

seems that turning off the de-noise in the advanced video features has worked so far. worth a try

Hello all

I am having the same video flickering problem on Zoom Workplace v6.0.2. I have tried the solution suggested here (turning off de-noise), elsewhere (turning on HD) and on the Zoom help page (uninstalling and re-installing Zoom) and none of it has worked. I am thinking of stopping using Zoom, which would be a terrible shame, but videoconferencing is central to my work and this flickering makes me look very unprofessional. Any further suggestions?

Maybe buy a seperate usb plug in webcam . they are quite cheap on Ebay. worth a try

if Zooming is important to you... Good luck

Thank you! It is actually a usb camera that is flickering. Zoom has said it is a CPU issue.

I have been dealing with constant flickering on zoom when using my Logitech C920 webcam fort a month now which I have used for 3 years with zero issues. Can you explain what a CPU issue is please?

I initially thought it was zoom, then webcam and then laptop and now I am not sure why I cannot resolve this issue!

I'm a bit of a technophobe and this has completely put a spanner in  the works in terms of me running my online sessions clearly! Any help greatly received to resolve this issue.

This is identical to what I'm experiencing and I'm using a Logitech C920e that I've checked on other apps (Photo Booth & FaceTime).  It only happens on Zoom.  I've tried all the fixes that have been documented here and nothing works.

PS: I have a MacBook Air with the most up-to-date OS.

UPDATE: I seemed to have remedied my problem by downloading an older version of zoom.

Try that as it has worked for me. Remember to untick the box that says do you want to action automatic updates otherwise it will keep updating to this verison and I think that is the problem with the flickering.

The older versions of Zoom did remedy this problem, but now Zoom forces you to update to version 6, so problem persists.  I'm also using a logicpro external camera.  I think a different camera may be the solution.

It is not the camera it is the newer version of Zoom update version 6 that is the issue.

I have had to go back to downloading an older version and if they make me update again I will have to switch to using an alternative meeting provider as zoom clearly aren't trying to resolve the issues their customers are facing with this! Very frustrating.
