Breakout rooms not working despite being enabled

Hello

 

I am struggling because several of my meetings do not allow me to use breakout rooms, despite this option being enabled in the settings. This issue is inconsistent, as in some meetings breakout rooms are an option, but in others not.

I have admin rights to my account and cannot see how this situation can be happening and it is causing me a lot of stress!

    Hi, Eti.

     

    Are you creating the Breakout Rooms before or during the meeting?

     

    If during the meeting, these are the requirements:

     

    Zoom desktop client:

    • Windows: version 5.9.3 or higher
    • macOS: version 5.9.3 or higher
    • Linux: version 5.9.3 or higher

    Notes:

    • This applies to the host, co-hosts, and breakout room participants.
    • Adjusting Breakout Rooms while they are open must be enabled for your account by Zoom, enabled in your Breakout Room settings, and have all participants connected through version 5.9.3 or higher. 

     

    If before the meeting:

     

    Zoom desktop client

    • Windows: version 5.4.6 or higher
    • macOS: version 5.4.6 or higher
    • Linux: version 5.4.6 or higher

    Mobile apps can be used but usually only by attendants and there are restrictions. You can read more about it here:

    If you still run into issues, I would strongly recommend to reach out to Zoom Tech support.

    Would you happen to know if breakout rooms are only available on destop or also on mobile? From a host point of few. As a host, I want to set up breakout rooms while using zoom on mobile but don't seem to find the option.

    Hi, Anne.

     

    Any Breakout Room participant can use desktop, web, mobile device, Zoom Rooms or even phone and SIP(VOIP) devices.

     

    However, for managing the breakout rooms, you do need the desktop client, the web client or a Zoom room.

    Thanks for replying Zoomzoom

    I suppose my words weren't quite precise enough: my computer and me are capable of setting up breakout rooms during a meeting and I for some meetings breakout rooms are an option for me to use.

    But my issue is that, despite the breakout room option being enabled in my settings, for some reason, some meetings do not allow me to use breakout rooms. I cannot understand how this can be!!! I urgently need to find a solution/workaround, as I rely on breakout rooms and I have meetings booked, but cannot be sure if they'll be able to have breakout rooms.

    I am just on a Pro account, so cannot seem to access zoom tech support... Unless I am misunderstanding something there?
