On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

Hello, All of a sudden when on a zoom on my PC, I have no sound. I use external speakers and they work with watching other videos and anything else with sound. HELP!

Hi @Cheryl

Can you try running a test meeting at https://zoom.us/test and see if you have different Speaker option listed?

I just tried and I get a notice "Failed to detect your microphone and speakers.

I have this issue in Windows 11. I have seen nothing that has changed it.

I have the same issue as Cheryl. I tried updating to 5.8.1 but that didn't fix the issue. My sound works just fine in all other apps, including videocall apps such as Teams, Hangout, etc... Maybe Zoom has increased the sound driver demands recently or something?

*UPDATE* Installing the 64bit version fixed the problem for me. https://cdn.zoom.us/prod/5.7.4.804/x64/ZoomInstaller.exe
