I installed the Zoom app on my new laptop. Participants in my meetings can hear me fine. When THEY speak, though, I can barely hear them and it sounds like they are using a tin can with string. I can't find any setting that might correct this.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I would start by checking if there are any driver updates for your laptop. Many times a default driver was installed but there is a newer one out and things magically work once the drivers are updated. The other thing to check is if there are any special sound settings which are supposed to enhance your audio, I find in many cases they just make the sound worse so I disable them, but you can play around with those to see if any sound better.
