Audio/Video Issues on Zoom – Anyone Found a Reliable Fix?

Hey everyone,

Lately, I’ve been experiencing some annoying issues with Zoom—random audio dropouts and video lag, even with a stable internet connection. I’ve tried adjusting settings, updating drivers, and even switching devices, but the problem still pops up occasionally.

I use Zoom for client calls and team meetings, and since I also run an eCommerce business using Sellvia, clear communication is crucial for handling orders and discussing strategies. Has anyone found a reliable fix for these issues? Any tips on optimizing Zoom settings for smoother performance? Would love to hear what’s worked for you!

I've encountered similar issues with Zoom, and a few adjustments have helped improve performance. Here are some steps that might work for you:

  1. Disable Hardware Acceleration – In Zoom settings, try turning off hardware acceleration for video and audio.
  2. Adjust Video Quality – Lowering the video resolution in Zoom settings can help if there are performance issues.
  3. Prioritize Zoom Traffic – If possible, configure your router to prioritize Zoom traffic using Quality of Service (QoS) settings.
  4. Close Background Applications – Other apps using bandwidth or system resources (like cloud backups, streaming services, or large downloads) can affect Zoom’s performance.
  5. Use a Wired Connection – Even with a stable Wi-Fi connection, using an Ethernet cable can provide more consistent performance.
  6. Check Firewall & Security Software – Some security programs may interfere with Zoom. Temporarily disabling them or adding Zoom as an exception might help.

Since you rely on Zoom for eCommerce meetings, ensuring a stable connection is essential. If the issue persists, checking with your internet service provider or trying an alternative device might help pinpoint the problem. Hope this helps!

Welcome to the Zoom Community @Ronmahreimad! Due to the microphone supressions and noise cancellation you would need to configure your audio for music. For more information, you can check out this article
