On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

Hi,
I would really appreciate any suggestions please.
I use Zoom for online lessons and have noticed that, over the last couple of weeks, issues tend to arise after we've been on a call for anywhere between 30 and 60 minutes. Typically, my student's video and audio suddenly cuts out (even though the Zoom symbols indicate that their camera and mic are still on), so all I see is a black screen and I can’t hear them. However, they can usually still hear and see me.
This issue seems to be occurring only with students based in mainland China. I haven’t noticed any problems with students in Hong Kong or other parts of the world.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for how to fix this?
Thank you,
Georgina

Suggest having students purchase an account. This phenomenon is controlled by China.
