On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

As Admin, how do I turn on the ability to upload virtual backgrounds?

I am trying to upload a virtual background, but when on Settings/Background & Effects/Virtual Backgrounds, I click the + sign to the upper right of the virtual background thumbnails and get the following message: "You cannot upload images or videos due to restrictions placed by your admin." I am the admin.

So, I went onto the settings for my account in my browser, and went through every setting, but could not find any place to toggle that feature on of off... what am I missing?

Thank you for any assistance you may be able to give on this matter. I have an important biz meeting upcoming and need to upload a particular virtual background for my presentation. Thank you!

UPDATE: I went to Zoom Management/Zoom Rooms/Account Settings/Account Profile and under Setup, I clicked the Virtual Background with Greenscreen toggle to on/enable, but it still will not allow me to upload any background images.

More than likely you need to turn on "Allow users to upload custom backgrounds" in the web portal. After you login to your account in a browser go to admin > account management > account settings > in meeting advanced > virtual backgrounds make sure it is turned on then check Allow users to upload custom backgrounds.

I am having the same problem, but only recently with the newest (for now) Zoom update (version 6.3.6). I used to be able to upload my own images for the background, but no longer. I am the administrator. I have done everything suggested: go to web portal, login to my account in a browser, go to admin > account management > account settings > in meeting advanced > virtual backgrounds make sure it is turned on then check Allow users to upload custom backgrounds.

NOTHING works for my paid Zoom account.

Someone then suggested that I uninstall Zoom and install it again. After that, I lost all of my previously stored backgrounds! How can I upload (again) my own images and videos to the virtual background?
I am using a MacBook Pro 13 with the Apple M2 Max, and running OS Sequoia 15.2
