Alternative host being asked to register (and unable to enter)

Hi Zoom community,

I'm hoping you can help me with an issue we're experiencing lately. When we set meetings with an alternative host (in the same organization), they use their unique link to enter the meeting. However on doing so they are asked to register and then being told the host cannot register. They are then unable to enter the meeting at all unless using a different email address. Any advice in relation to this issue would be appreciated.

Many thanks

I'm having the same problem. It also asks me, as host, to register. I have to go in through the app to open the meeting. Even through I have designated the co-hosts ahead of time, they cannot get in. They are told to register, and then told that hosts cannot register. They are unable to get into the meeting. I need guests to register. Any simple solutions for this issue yet?

We have the same issue, utilizing Zoom via our LMS. There was an update to Zoom v3 and its been a nightmare with changes over the last year that have impacted functionality. We need our hosts and alt-host to be able to login through the LMS to start the course. Once one starts the other cannot enter without going back into their Zoom account and access the link from there. Its a terrible experience

    Hello @JasonKoZillow,

I'm sorry for the late response.
kindly ensure all instructors/hosts have matching email addresses:

    • Zoom account email

    • LMS email

    • Alt-host assignments must match exactly.

If it is still causing an issue, kindly submit a ticket to our technical support team for further troubleshooting.

Regarding the update - all the meetings I scheduled (out to 2030) are now GONE!

Regarding alt host having to sign in- I changed the settings in the meetings I scheduled (that are gone now). We were having issues also when alt hosts signed in from different IP addresses - again this was relieved when I changed the settings when I schedule the meetings. No one from Zoom advised me - they usually don't respond. I'm looking into a different provider to host our meetings.

Hello @AMYDELEON8003! We're sorry for the inconvenience. Your meetings may be missing due to a settings change, account update, or sync issue—make sure you're logged into the correct Zoom account. If you use Google Calendar, Outlook, or another integration, check there too. Recent changes to alternate host or sign-in settings could have caused Zoom to remove meetings that no longer match host permissions. As for IP addresses, Zoom doesn’t typically block by IP unless advanced security settings, SSO, VPN, or firewall policies are in play.

Thank you - fortunately I save the meeting links in a Note on my Mac, so once I imported those link into My Calendar (in Zoom), those meetings appeared in My Meetings tab!
