On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

What are the options for having somebody else host or co-host a meeting if the host is incapacitated at short notice before the meeting starts?

Thank you in advance

Thanks. In the end I had to configure it so they could bypass the waiting room and then enter the host key which came out of your second suggestion

You can have several options:

1.) Add alternative host (must be done by the host or a Zoom admin before the meeting starts)

2.) Allow users to join before host (must be enabled by the host or a Zoom admin before the meeting starts

a.) If no host is required, leave as-is

b.) If a host is required, a user who is given the host's Host Key can claim the host role manually in-meeting
