Adding new people to a recurring meeting

I have a recurring Zoom meeting and I am trying to add new attendees but keep getting the message "you are not the host"
I opened the meeting and looked at the data and it does show me and my correct email as the host. I'd prefer not to cancel this standing meeting I've had for ~2 years, has anyone had this challenge?
