Account settings don't work universally

Did you guys know that just because you have your account settings Auto Record - "Record meetings automatically when they start" set to ON doesn't mean your meeting will automatically record when they start?  I will be refunding my client $3,000 because I foolishly thought that if I had that setting on then it would be the default for new meetings.  Now I have no recordings for my meetings - a key deliverable to my client.  No support from Zoom.  Anyone else have this happen to them?  I'm just so curious why they would have something in your account settings APPEAR to be a universal setting when you have to SET IT AGAIN on a meeting by meeting basis.  Thoughts?
