Why can't I choose which external calendar to export to anymore?

The recent update on May 19 completely took away the ability to choose which external calendar to export meetings to. I'm signed into Zoom through Gmail since Zoom doesn't support personal Outlook accounts (I no longer have an organization account), but my familiarity is with Outlook calendar and everyone I'm still working with is using Outlook calendar, which makes it easier for me to just create a Zoom meeting, select the Other calendars > Outlook option, and then use that to send the invite through my 'personal' Outlook account.

But the recent update removed that feature and now forces me to ONLY use Google Calendar. I DO NOT WANT TO BE SENDING MY MEETING INVITES THROUGH MY GMAIL ACCOUNT, because it's strictly personal--the Outlook account is "personal" but is really my work account, I just do not have an organizational account anymore. This is the most bizarre "update" ever.

I can't just create a new account on Zoom to integrate with my Outlook account because guess what, my Gmail-Zoom account is PAID. Can anyone help? Especially Zoom staff, if they ever see this?

I am also having this issue as of May 22nd. I organize all my Zoom meetings in Google Calendar, and the option to connect the two is no longer available, and I need to do so in order to stay organized in my client-facing job.

HELP is right!!!!!    I am having the exact same problem.   This is the way I have been running my practice for years now.

WHAT TO DO?????????????????   Need assistance ASAP.

There are several solutions. You could download the Zoom invite and upload it to your preferred calendar manually. You could scheduled the meeting from your Outlook calendar. If you want to automate this there is a Zoom app, Salepager, that lets you create meetings and export them to your preferred calendar whether Outlook or Google calendar.

I just recently lost the ability to export a Zoom meeting into iCal on my Mac and iPhone. It disappeared overnight and I am very frustrated. I actually joined this forum to see if anyone was having similar concerns.

I have contacted Support and the response was less than supportive.  Basically told to leave feedback in the app itself for someone in 'software' to see it and perhaps choose to address it. I did that, and would encourage others to do the same. The immediate update after that didn't have the fix, but maybe a more robust outcry will address it.

Zoom is trying to force us to use their calendar.  Zoom it's May 24th if you don't find a way to restore it by next Tuesday the 27th I am gone.  I don't want your calendar!!!!  I will go to Teams which sucks, but you are on your way to bloatware ... see Evernote history.  Please reinstall advanced options ASAP.

Hey everyone above I am in the same boat. I too use iCal and it is no longer giving the option to export to that calendar.  What to do?

üst bumping this - taking away this option and causing us to either use the Zoom calendar or adding steps to a task as simple as organizing a VC is a good way of losing customers - bring this back please - NOW!

Totally adding to the workflow.  Zoom technology is supposed to make my life easier.  Remember Evernote?  You have started down the path of greed and moving away from simplicity.  When someone starts a dedicated, simple video play you are toast.

I am new to this forum. Does Zoom ever monitor it for trends or do we need to do something else to bring this to their attention?

Hi I am asking the same question

Submit feedback via the desktop app (I was told this by Support)

I just submitted a support ticket to Zoom about this issue. Maybe if enough people contact them, they will fix it.

I have also submitted a support ticket - well done you by96. Come on folks there is power in numbers and I doubt with out us all submitting a ticket they will notice this thread on the community.

I heard back from support. Here is what I got back:

We understand how important it is for you and many others to maintain seamless integration with iCal, especially when it’s been a long-standing part of your scheduling workflow. We acknowledge the recent removal of the automatic export to iCal from the meeting scheduling process and recognize the inconvenience this has caused. Rest assured that I’ll do my best to assist you with this.

After further review with our internal team, we’ve confirmed that Zoom currently does not support direct integration with iCal. At this time, iCal integration is only available through iOS devices. - Syncing calendars on the Zoom app for iOS

We kindly recommend using one of Zoom’s supported calendar integrations—Google Calendar, Outlook, or Office 365—as these platforms support automatic meeting invitations and currently provide the most seamless experience with Zoom.

We truly appreciate your continued support and have shared your feedback internally.

Therefore, we would love to hear your feedback directly from you. If you'd like to request this feature for future versions, you can submit your suggestion at https://zoom.us/feed. While I can’t guarantee when it will be prioritized, please know that our engineering team will carefully review all submissions."

I can only suggest that you follow us at http://blog.zoom.us and our release notes https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/sections/201214205-Release-Notes for new product and feature announcements. I hope I was able to shed some light on the situation.

Your feedback, along with that of others in the community, is incredibly valuable, and we will make sure it’s shared with our product and engineering teams for review. While we continue to evolve our platform, user experience remains a top priority—and we truly appreciate your patience and continued support.

Please let us know if this answers your concern or if you still need further assistance.

Additionally, please be advised as well for contact, and for future verification purposes, kindly add a verified Phone Number to your Zoom Profile: https://zoom.us/profile. If you've already added it, please feel free to disregard this message.

Should you have any other concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us anytime at https://support.zoom.us. Have a good day and stay safe!

Thank you for choosing Zoom!

Hi everyone!

Due to recent updates, when a user has a calendar integrated with their Zoom account (including Zmail), the option to export meetings to an external calendar is automatically disabled. This option only becomes available when no calendar is linked to the account.

So if I disconnect the connected calendar, the option comes back?

I disconnected my connected Gmail account and scheduled a new meeting. However, the option to export to a calendar still did not appear. Please advise. Thank you.

Do you have the Calendar tab in your Zoom app? If you click on it, in the top right is there an account listed? If there is an account in the calendar tab then the options for external calendars are removed. I was able to make it come back if there was absolutely no account integration, including the Zmail account

Thank you! I clicked on the Calendar tab in the app and there was only a greyed out calendar in the top right. However, did have Zmail set up, so I signed out of Zmail, and then when I created a meeting in the Zoom app, it imported like before to iCal. However, it does not appear to work the same from the Mac app, where I do most of my scheduling. I prefer to use the Mac app, but can use the iPhone app if necessary.

Thanks again for chiming in on this issue. Unfortunately, as shown above in the message I posted, Zoom support did not know of this fix.

Sorry to jump in here but how to I sign out of the Zmail account? I can't see anyway to do it in the Mac Zoom app.

I realize you're just stating the company position, but as should be clear from the concerns here, this "update" was clearly a solution in search of a problem. Zoom fixed something that wasn't broken, presumably in pursuit of its own interests and not its users.

I have been in contact with Support over this and have submitted feedback in the desktop app as per their instructions. Unfortunately, the update just released FAILED to fix this. I am tired of their 'sympathy' etc. This has been an on/off problem for over a year.  If anyone has found a workaround, I would love to hear it. Encouraging everyone affected to submit feedback via the desktop app.

Ditto - I have sent feedback to Zoom as it this is an obvious cynical ploy to force people to use Zoom scheduler. The update before made it harder than earlier versions and this version has taken away any choice.

I won't be renewing my subscription

Finally figured out what they did and wish they would have explained the UX to all of us.  As long as my Google calendar is connected I set the day and date and it automatically populates Google and from there I add my names.  In the past it went directly to my calendar.  I can live with that but if they stop supporting 3P calendars they will be toast.  its all about selling us there calendar.  Zoom I don't ever want to use your calendar, I already have a really good one.

Hello!  Good news !  Would you be willing to tell me the steps of how I do that?  I am not the most tech savvy person but have been running my business using that feature!  I even spent three weeks back and forth with support and about $600- on private tech consultants and they didn’t even know how up remedy !!!! Very frustrating !

sure tel me what you need .. sorry I just saw this today ... yes tech is very frustrating ... *********** reply to me there

Hello @suzanne1969! If you currently have a calendar integrated, your events will automatically export to that calendar.

If you'd like to export to a different calendar, you’ll need to first remove the existing integration. This will allow you to choose and connect a different calendar.

For users with a Zmail calendar integration:
You’ll need to remove the Zmail calendar from your profile by logging into the web app. Once it's removed, you'll be able to connect a new calendar.

Hi Mark,

I have tried this and even thought I can see iCal with a blue dot in it still doesn't sync to iCal. It also doesn't send email links to any email address I add.

When will this bug be fixed?

I too am having a similar issue-up until recently my outlook account was integrated and I use Zoom Scheduler. I purchased this add-on as it is time consuming for me to be sending back and forth emails to clients. My outlook email is a personal account which I use for work purposes and I have 365. This worked fine but last week it has decided to disconnect and I have been unable to reauthorise. I have been back and forth with support sending me links to support pages and they also suggest it is a user issue-rather than listen to customers and offer support they consistently dismiss issues.

In addition to this, it is frustrating that SMS notifications have been disabled for 6months now with not ETA on when this will be available again. I pay extra for this service but who cares??
