What is the most effective way to distribute class materials (pdfs) to attendees of a Zoom event?

Jill,

During the meeting you can share the .pdf or other files through in-meeting Chat. You can either share the file directly or a link to a file storage site such as Box/Dropbox, etc.
If you have a Chat channel for the class, you can use the Zoom persistent chat to share the file.

I would like for the attendees to be able to view and print the materials for the session

Welcome to the Zoom Community, @VITA1401.

The easiest way for you is to upload (or have your event host upload for you) your PDF documents in the session's "Downloadable material in the lobby" item.  If you have editing privileges for the event (either as Host, Co-Editor, or with "Invite Speaker to Edit Session"), then you should be able to drag-and-drop here:

If not, you might have to send the file to the Host or a Co-Editor and ask them to upload it.

With this approach, advise students to access the session "card" (by clicking on the session title on the Session or Itinerary listing), and scroll to the bottom of the card (if there's a lot of text there, otherwise will probably be easily visible).  They can click on the document, and the Zoom Event lobby interface will download the file to their usual "downloaded files" location.

There is another place where you can make the file available, but this only makes it available during the session, and I'm sure you'd prefer they download and print sometime in advance.  But if you wanted to have this and/or some other material available during the session, go to the Resources tab on the session edit screen, and drag-and-drop to the Documents area:

Then attendees during the session can access the document from the Resources window, accessed by clicking the Resources button at the bottom of their screen (potentially hidden in the More... button area).
