While hosting a webinar when the panelist shares their screen and selects optimize video and share sound it then shows two gray boxes over what is being shared.  How do we fix this?

Hi @glms_502 thank you for your post here on the Zoom Community! Well, in the spirit of not reinventing the wheel and giving credit where it is due, I actually found a nice article with screen shots about how to hide the meeting controls when you start a screen share

    https://pragmaticcomputingtips.com/2021/02/24/zoom-tip-how-to-hide-those-pesky-grey-boxes-during-screen-sharing/

I hope that helps! For reference here is our article on content sharing, including what options to check in the Zoom portal if you wanted to share your Zoom windows during content share (e.g. you wanted to share your desktop and have the Zoom client show to the people in the meeting). https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362153-Sharing-your-screen-or-desktop-on-Zoom

This is caused by the “Optimize for video clip" setting. Normally you shouldn’t use that, since it causes a grey box if there are windows open on top or even behind the shared item. Do check “Share computer sound” when sharing a video, that is important. Here is an article which explains it: https://thewebinerd.com/2021/07/13/get-rid-of-those-gray-boxes-in-zoom/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=get-rid-of-those-gray-boxes-in-zoom
