Suggestions for Live Translated Captions from English to French, Spanish, Arabic for Multi-day even?

Dear Zoom Community,

I am looking to use Zoom Webinars to run a small virtual multi-day "conference". I would like attendees to be able to change the language that the captions appear into the language of their choice. I know this is not something Zoom provides, but would love suggestions for third-party addons that may fit our needs.

Essentially, I need what the Presenter in the webinar is saying to be automatically captioned live into multiple languages. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

    Hi @Paul_Wiedmaier

We've just launched translated captions and will be rolling this feature out to more accounts in the coming months.

Take a look at our support article and see if this would suit your needs!

Live translation transcription in on the Zoom product roadmap for next year.  I know that doesn't help you now 😉

    Hi Bort

It possible to have the translation for the recipients to have in their own language which is great, but when there is dialogue taking place (two way conversation) between two or more languages, is it possible to have live translation between all participants involved in the discussion, so that all participants feel included in the meeting, no matter what country they come from?

Thank you for your help in this matter.

The idea of translated captions is that each participant chooses their SPEAKING LANGUAGE and their CAPTION LANGUAGE.  That way, assuming its supported, if my CAPTION LANGUAGE is dutch, and one speaker speaks German, and another in French, I should see DUTCH translated captions.  https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0059081
    I hope this helps

    Dear @kkurth ,
from what you are describing, it sound like the settings for the translation system might have been wrong.

Every participant in a meeting has to set two things, when translated captions is activate:

    1. Speaking Language: The language in which the participant is speaking
    2. Caption Language: The language that the participant wants captions to appear in

In addition you can select to simultaneously see the transcript in the original language and the translation (they will be color coded differently).

So, in your setting, you would have to set your speaking language to English (and your caption language to English). And your Spanish speaking audience would need to set their speaking and caption language to Spanish.

Can you verify whether that works for you? The option to see both, transcript in the original language, and translation often helps in detecting and debugging issues with settings.

@kkurth Did the suggestions help to resolve the issue?

Yes, after I figured out that the Zoom I was having trouble with was not my own, rather another colleague's and she did not pay for the upgrade required to use the translation functionality. Once I originated a meeting from my own account, it was easy to select languages. Thanks for your reply to my question.!!
