Zoom Slack app and Zoom AI Companion Summary message

Hi there,

For the past few days, I’ve been receiving the following message in Slack every time I join a Zoom meeting via the Zoom Slack App:

“New! Zoom AI Meeting Summaries in Slack
Zoom AI Companion now sends post-meeting summaries directly to Slack! Get key insights, shared assets, and action items—all in one place. To view your summary, check the Zoom bot after your call. To disable AI Meeting Summaries, contact your admin to turn it off.

We have gathered some assets from your meeting earlier.”

However, Zoom AI Companion is turned off at the account level in the Zoom admin portal, as we do not allow Zoom AI to access or process our data.

When I run /zoom config in Slack, I don’t see any option to disable these summaries either.

Do you know how to stop this message from appearing?

Thanks in advance!

I would also love to have this turned off as well. I receive the "We have gathered some assets from your meeting earlier" for every single meeting, even if AI was turned off.

Hi there, we fixed the issue on May 26th. If you disabled the AIC at the account level and locked it, then we will not send the meeting summary to the Slack side

I'm also receiving "We have gathered some assets from your meeting earlier" after every call as a message in slack. Please have a notification toggle so I can turn it off.

We've encountered the same issue in our organization. Even though Zoom AI Companion is disabled at the account level, some users still receive these summary notifications in Slack.

Here are a few things to check:

  • Double-check the Admin Portal: Go to Admin > Account Settings > Meeting > Zoom AI Companion and confirm all AI-related toggles (including Meeting Summaries and Smart Recordings) are fully disabled.
  • Slack App Permissions: The Zoom Slack App might still have retained permissions. Try removing and reinstalling the Zoom app in Slack, then run /zoom config again to refresh the settings.
  • User-Level Settings: Even with admin-level AI features disabled, some individual users may still have residual permissions. Make sure those are cleared.
  • Submit a Support Ticket: If everything seems correct and it’s still happening, I’d recommend opening a support ticket with Zoom — there may be a delay in how changes propagate across integrations like Slack.
