Meeting Summary was not generated due to insufficient transcript.

Hello, I need help understanding why our meeting couldn’t be summarized due to an insufficient transcript. We've used this feature many times before, but this time it didn’t work, and I’m not sure why. Does anyone know how to contact Zoom support?

Same problem here.  The call was 35 Minutes long. "A summary and next steps could not be generated due to insufficient transcript".

I guess I've to find another solution and cancel my Zoom membership. As this problem seems to have no solution according to the comments in the community

I'm having the same problem. It's very frustrating, becuase I'm relying on Zoom to get a transcript and take notes – if I knew it wasn't going to do that for this meeting, I would have done so myself during the meeting, but it's hard to remember the details after the meeting.

I'm having the same problem but can't find an answer. Not good.

This feature worked fine for me until the end of 2025. Now I am getting the error message "...could not be generated due to insufficient transcript." and I didn't change anything in my settings.

Zoom, can you fix this bug?

Hi,

Transcript only generates if a cloud recording actually took place.

If your Zoom Meeting Summary failed due to an insufficient transcript, it usually means poor audio quality, short meeting duration, disabled transcription settings, or a delay in processing; troubleshoot by checking host settings (enable Cloud Recording & Live Transcription), ensuring good mics/less background noise, waiting longer for processing (especially for longer meetings), and updating the Zoom app for better AI Companion performance

Common Causes
No/Poor Audio: Not enough spoken words, bad mics, or high background noise.
Transcription Disabled: The host didn't enable Live Transcription in settings.
Short Meeting: Too little content for the AI to summarize.
Processing Delay: The summary/transcript might still be generated.
Outdated App: Your Zoom desktop client needs an update.

How to Fix & Prevent
Check Host Settings (Admin):
Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin.
Go to Account Management > Account Settings > Recording & Transcript.
Enable Cloud Recording and check the box for Create audio transcript.
Enable in Meeting (Pro/Business):
During a meeting, a host can request to enable it, which takes effect immediately or for the next meeting.

Improve Audio Quality:
Use headsets or good quality microphones to reduce noise.Ensure Sufficient Content:
For longer, more detailed discussions, there's more data for the AI.
Update Zoom:
Ensure everyone's Zoom app is updated to the latest version for full feature functionality.
Wait Longer:
Processing can take time; longer meetings need more time.
Verify Recording Location (if cloud/local recording):
Check Zoom settings for where recordings are saved to ensure files aren't lost.

If issues persist after checking settings, you may need to contact Zoom Support for specific meeting issues.

I have had this issue today for the first time as well. What is the fix?

Hi Zoom Support,

This is not the fix.

I have all of the correct settings.

I have not changed any settings. The feature worked three weeks ago, and it does not work now.

The issue has to be a change or bug with Zoom, not an issue on my end. MANY users are reporting this issue now. How can it be fixed? Otherwise, I need a refund so I can shift to another solution.
