new Zoom meeting link logs into last Zoom meeting link

Usually, logging onto a Zoom meeting is flawless.  However, recently, I have had the experience of clicking on a new Zoom meeting link and getting the link for the most recent Zoom meeting I attended.  I have tried closing and reopening Zoom, rebooting my computer.  Nothing seems to work.  I can get on manually by using the meeting ID and password, but that takes time...any ideas about how to rectify this problem?  I have been using Zoom for several years and it is only in the last few months this situation comes up, but it is not consistent.
