I finally figured this out so posting it to help others. I clicked on the image I wanted to use and opened it fully. Then Right click on the mouse and choose Resize image. Then I changed the image to 80% height and 80% width and saved it as a new image, with new name and I closed it. Then I went back to my Zoom profile and uploaded it and it worked 🙂  Took bloomin ages to figure this out, so I thought I'd help others with this post.

I don't have right and left click with this iMac. I will have to find a "resize image" tool.

In an image editor application, create a new, blank image with dimensions of 267 x 267 pixels. Bring in your original image and resize it to fit within the workspace. Center the resized image at 133.5 (the center of 267 x 267) on the x-axis and y-axis. Export or save it as a PNG or JPEG file.

    Hey, everyone.

I decided to play with some sizing and see what happens.  First of all, always create it square if possible.  Next, taking a small-format image (267x267) and expanding it to larger (1080x1080, for example), will create a grain appearance.  If you have a larger format image and down-size it, that's less of a problem.

I created a 1080x1080 image (composed of a pencil drawing made by a friend of my son, and a professionally-made pseudo-signature), and it was only 780KB.  Here's how it looks on-screen when I'm the only person in the meeting with a full screen view:

If there are two people in the meeting, it looks like this:

So I'd recommend creating a nice 1080x1080 image and try that.  I'm guessing the 267x267 size was old info.  See this info from Perplexity.
