Two meeting IDs for the same meeting

Hello Zoom Community,

I’m running into an issue where the same scheduled event ends up with two different Meeting IDs, causing attendees and hosts to get split into two completely separate virtual rooms.

Has anyone else experienced this split-ID issue with Zoom Scheduler? Are there any backend settings or workflow best practices to force Zoom to update the existing meeting ID rather than generating a duplicate series?

Appreciate any insights!

@igap We have never received feedback about this, could you share more details about how to trigger this? We will try to reproduce and fix. Really appreciate your feedback.

    Hi,
this is the conclusion we came to with the AI agent but we can’t really tell what triggered it from our end:

If you’re not editing anything in Google Calendar, you can still end up with 2 Meeting IDs because Zoom Scheduler can create a new Zoom meeting/series when something changes in the booking behind the scenes, for example:

    • the booking is rescheduled (even if done via Scheduler, it still updates Google Calendar)
    • the session is cancelled and rebooked
    • the booking page/settings arec hanged(e.g., host/availability/conferencing settings) and a new meeting gets generated for future occurrences
    • there are multiple booking pages/templates that look the same, and different attendees booked via different pages at different times

Once a second Zoom meeting exists, anyone using an older email confirmation/reminder (from a previous booking/series) can join that older Meeting ID, even though the current Google Calendar event shows only the latest one

@igap Already find the root cause, will fix it ASAP.

Thanks! Seems like reauthenticating the calendar might have done something as we stopped experiencing it for now.

I haven't experienced it personally, but it sounds like the meeting may have been recreated instead of updated, resulting in a new Meeting ID. I’d check whether the scheduler integration is creating duplicate events in the calendar and verify that all invitees are using the latest Zoom link. If it continues, Zoom Support may need to review the scheduler logs.
