Hello,

It would be nice to be able to get the website of the URL we setup refreshed every X amount of time set up in the digital signage option.

You should be able to list the URL as a content source for a fixed amount of time only (either as its own item or a single-item playlist) and then list it again. This should trigger a refresh and should not rely on cached content.

Hello @bstrelko , no it doesn't work this way, I tried it.

There is no refresh happening.

Same issue.  Change an image in the web site digital signage is pointed to, remove/re-add the URL content in zoom admin, save in zoom admin.  Device restarts and image doesn't change.  I can access the same site in multiple browsers and site displays with changed image.

Hello @seb_criteo and @bstrelko

I know this thread is a bit old but I recently had to address this issue and have found a way to force the URL source to be reloaded on a consistent basis.

When using Digital Signage within our organization, I have been using URLs that link to published Google Slides presentation. This is a great solution as it allows me to share the slide deck with the content managers via Google sharing without needing to give them direct access to the Zoom Room via elevated privileges in Zoom.

I have found the same issue you and others have detailed, where the URL fails to load updated content from the URL listed in the Content List.

To force the URL to load each time it is referenced, I have found that if I add 1 additional "blank" image to the content list (stored in the Content Library) the URL will be reloaded each time the content list "rotates".

EXAMPLE:

I created a folder in the Content Library named "URL_REFRESH"

I Then uploaded 1920x1080 images (PNG,JPG) that are all black or all white.

(In some cases we use a "banner/logo image" for a given division.)

Once uploaded to the Content Library, I then navigate back to the Digital Signage section for the Zoom Room.

I select the "blank" image.

And then add the image to the Content List directly after the URL content item.

Now with the addition of the secondary content item, each time the content list "rotates" to the URL, the Zoom Room is forced to re-load the URL and thereby pulling any new content to the signage display.

SIDENOTE: If you are using a Google Slide deck in the manner described above, make sure to set the Duration of the Zoom Digital Signage Content Item for the URL to 1 seconds longer than the slide deck takes to complete. This ensures that the slide deck is played completely, I usually pull up the Google Slides URL in a browser and then time the presentation and adjust the duration accordingly.

I hope that this provides the information you need, reply if you have any further questions. Otherwise, consider marking this post a "Accept as Solution" so other Zoom Community members may find this solution as well!

Cheers!

Unless I'm misunderstanding, this will result in a black image for 5s every time (or more like ~5s, since Zoom Digital Signage cares nothing about time precision, proof-of-play, etc - all critical elements of any true digital signage platform).

It's a cute workaround for a poorly designed system, but wouldn't fly in our environment.

We've asked web developers to start building 1m auto-refresh mechanisms into the HTML of frequently used pages (which I realize isn't always an option) and having that work in tandem with Zoom's schedule of 1min 'sometimes-works' refresh, which results in zero interruption.

Anyone have a ticket open with Zoom that the rest of us can jump on and try to actually get the root issue taken seriously?
Same if they're classifying a working system as a 'feature request' - happy to pile on.

Some signage platforms like Xibo, Yodeck, or Pickcel let you set a refresh interval directly in the CMS, but Zoom Rooms doesn’t currently offer that option for URL-based signage. In Zoom’s setup, the simplest workaround is to handle the refresh within the webpage itself, either through a meta-refresh tag or a small script. That ensures the content updates automatically while Zoom just displays whatever the page outputs.
