Can No Longer Share Cameras through "Share Content" Outside of Meeting

It seems that very recently, we have lost the ability to share a camera through the “Share Content” button outside of a meeting in our Zoom Rooms. We are using Roland UVC-01 HDMI to USB capture devices, but since they are not in the list of approved devices for HDMI share, we presented our users with the workaround to hit “Share Content”, then “Camera”, then choose the “Content” option, which is simply an HDMI switcher plugged into the Roland HDMI to USB device into the Zoom Room PC.

However, now when we press the Share Content button, there is no option for Camera outside of a meeting. We now have to start a meeting, hit the Share Content, then switch to the cameras. Is this a recent change that there is now an option needed to allow us to do this again? Or is this simply not possible anymore without an approved HDMI to USB capture card?

Here is what it looks like sharing outside of a meeting. There used to be the Camera option next to iPhone/iPad:

And here is what it looks like when connected to a meeting:

That’s pretty annoying. Not a huge difference to click ‘New Meeting’ first and then share (which Zoom treats almost identically to ‘Share Now’ meetings that spin up when sharing locally), but that’s an extra unnecessary click for users that wasn’t there before!

Have you pinpointed the version at which this behavior changed? Have you reached out to Zoom support to try to get context/clarity on why this change was specifically made and if it can be reverted?

The extra press itself is not really an issue, it’s more having to re-train our users that’s the real annoyance.

I’m not sure which version it started exactly, but the earliest we noticed it was 6.5.1. I originally asked the live support agent and it told me it knew of no change that would have affected this, but suggested posting here if anybody else had experienced it. Just wanted to hopefully avoid needing to buy new capture cards for 10+ Zoom Rooms if there is a way it can be reverted or supported again. I did create a support ticket with Zoom and will update if there is any fix on their end.
