Using Zoom for Online Word Puzzle Sessions – Anyone Tried Letter Boxed?
Hello everyone,
I’ve recently been experimenting with hosting small online puzzle sessions using Zoom meetings, mainly with friends who enjoy word and logic games. One puzzle that worked surprisingly well in a group setting is the Letter Boxed puzzle from the New York Times, where players connect letters from different sides of a square to form words.
What we tried was sharing the puzzle on screen and letting participants suggest words in real time. It turned into a fun collaborative challenge where everyone brainstorms together to find the shortest solution. The screen share feature made it easy for everyone to see the puzzle and discuss strategies.
However, I’m curious if anyone here has hosted similar puzzle or word-game sessions on Zoom.
Some things I’m wondering:
-
Are there better ways to organize collaborative puzzle solving during meetings?
-
Has anyone used breakout rooms for small teams competing to solve a puzzle faster?
-
Any tips for keeping participants engaged during interactive games like Letter Boxed?
I’d love to hear how others are using Zoom beyond typical meetings or webinars. If you’ve run virtual game nights, puzzle sessions, or learning activities, please share your experience!
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
