Using Zoom for Collaborative Word Games like Letter Boxed – Any Tips?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been exploring creative ways to make virtual meetings more engaging, and recently I started using Zoom sessions to play word puzzle games like Letter Boxed with friends and small groups.

It’s been surprisingly fun and interactive, especially for:

  • Team-building activities

  • Online study groups

  • Casual virtual hangouts

However, I’m still experimenting with the best setup and would love some advice from the community.

🔍 What I’ve Tried So Far:

  • Sharing the puzzle screen via screen share

  • Using chat for submitting words

  • Taking turns to solve in breakout rooms

❓ Questions:

  1. Are there better ways to structure gameplay on Zoom for smoother interaction?

  2. Has anyone used Zoom features like whiteboards or reactions for word games?

  3. Any tips to avoid confusion when multiple participants are contributing answers?

I’m trying to keep sessions organized while still making them fun and collaborative.

Would love to hear your experiences or suggestions!

Thanks in advance 😊
