Disable Automatic Zoom Link Generation in Outlook

There is some setting that has started to automatically generate a Zoom link any time I create an event in Outlook that has at least one additional person. The problem with this is that several of my meetings are in-person and so I need to delete the link every single time. How do I change the settings so that auto-creation of Zoom links is NOT the default behavior in Outlook?

    Hi @abirla

This has to do with the Every Meeting Online feature that Outlook recently released. If you would like to disable this, you can do so from your Outlook settings. This Outlook support article should help: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/make-every-meeting-online-70f9bda0-fd29-498b-9757-6709cc1c73f0

Hope that helps and please make sure to mark the solution as accepted if this information is what you needed.

OMG this has been bugging me for almost a year.  I removed every sort of plugin locally on my mac running office 365 to no avail.

Finally figured out it was in Office 365 in outlook in the web browser version only.

Go to Outlook -> Calendar -> Calendar Settings

Next select Events and invitations.  Uncheck Add online meeting to all meetings, or select Microsoft Teams instead of Zoom if you want.

Also under Customize actions in the Calendar Settings there is an option to remove the add-ins from the menu in outlook.  Uncheck this.

Go back to your outlook desktop client, sync and now no more automatic Zoom meetings.  Hope this helps someone else.

I had this issue when trying to add a team member to an existing calendar event- this worked - but I used to get a prompt to only send to newly added attendee. This is gone because the person that booked the meeting their email is not even in zoom under attendees. Zoom must have had an update or something none of these were issues before.
