Automatic Closed Captioning not working

Hi folks,

 

We have automatic closed captioning enabled but during zoom meeting the option for CC is not appearing. Is anyone else having these issues recently?

 

Previously we had auto CC enabled but in meeting the option that would show up was for manual CC. I made sure that manual CC was disabled and auto CC enabled, through the web portal. During zoom meeting the option for CC still prompted us to assign someone to manually do CC. I went through this meeting to the settings and noticed that manual CC had somehow been enabled, even though we had just disabled it. After disabling, again, and making sure the auto CC was still enabled, the zoom meeting no longer had the CC option at all. I rebooted Zoom. Signed out and signed back in. Restarted my computer, and the problem persists...

    In the Web Portal

    Go to ADMIN > Account Management > Account Settings > Meeting then search for "captions".

    Be sure that "Manual Captions" is off and "Automated captions" is on. Make sure the correct languages are selected. Make sure "Automated captions on device" is on.

    Go to PERSONAL > Settings > Meeting  then search for "captions".

    Be sure that "Manual Captions" is off and "Automated captions" is on. Make sure the correct languages are selected. Make sure "Automated captions on device" is on.

    Then start the meeting and configure CC in settings > accessibility

    Then configure host settings from the CC on the main menu.

    If this works please click accept as a solution.

    This does not work. I set everything up as directed, but when I go to the Captions menu, I do not see any option to turn on automatic closed captioning. Only the manual and third party options appear. I have Allow closed captioning for this meeting turned on, but I see no way to turn it on.

    My Zoom version is 6.5.12 (63499).

    Hello,

    We have captions on automatically for a specific group. The captions for those users on the Zoom workplace app automatically start when they join a meeting. We do have the option to assign a person the option to type them, but we do not use the option usually. I am not sure if this will help but we have the following settings turned on:

    In Zoom.us 

    Manual Captions

          Allow host to type or assign a participant to type

          Allow use of caption API Token integrate with 3rd-party Closed Captioning Services

    Automated captions

     

    In Zoom Workplace app for each user in that group we have this setting turned on. (We did have to manually turn this on for each user)
