Alternative Hosts Rules Limit Usability

We occasionally run into an issue where an upcoming Zoom meeting has to be cancelled and a new one created simply because you do not allow the addition of co-hosts when scheduling a meeting (occasionally the original host cannot attend).

We thought we had found an answer to this with the Alternative Host option, as they could start a meaning in the host's absence.  However, we were cut off at the knees with this when it turns out that the Alternative host is required to be a user in the same account.  This cannot work for us.  We need to be able to assign an alternative host that is a licensed user that is not in the meeting creator's account.

The reasons for this are simple:

  • We are a nonprofit group and several of us that are licensed users supply online Zoom meetings when needed.
  • None of us are willing to share our accounts with someone else, as other members of the NGO are not in our personal companies or are simply unwilling to share their personal accounts (nor should they have to).

We hope that this issue can be resolved in the future as it has created difficulties.
