Timestamp options in AI transcripts?

The AI generated transcripts of recordings put timestamps in the middle of sentences, and overall there are far too many timestamps.  Is there a way to turn off the timestamp generation for the .vtt auto generated transcript?

Hi @BoostMRC

No, not currently possible with the transcript generation from Zoom.

Hope that helps and let me know if you have any further questions. Otherwise, make sure to mark the solution as accepted if this information is what you needed.

Is there a prospect of being able to adjust time stamps to user choice, say every 5 minutes? Will Zoom developers look at this options?

Agree - I want to adjust time stamps to say every 5 minutes. Otherwise, it is just as time-consuming removing timestamps and white space from a .vtt file that is  pasted into word,  than it is to type from scratch.  The transcript is very accurate - the best around -  but without any additional features, this feature is not as relevant and help and useful as it could be.

I would echo this request. I use the transcription service for teletherapy with clients. Inputting that information into my online EMR system just messes up their AI transcription service. It would be help to have user-configured times or to select no timestamps. I'll submit this is as a customer request.  Thank you.

I also agree!

Workaround: Use MICROSOFT WORD'S transcription feature. The transcript is much less messy. However, there are 2 downsides to this:

  1. Speaker labels do not transfer over (at least for hybrid meetings, not sure about fully remote), BUT Word is good at labeling the speakers based on their voice, so you really only have to rename each speaker once, which is fairly easy if you are familiar with the speakers. Just "rename all" via the transcript box on the right OR control H "Speaker 2" and replace all with the actual name if you are working on the transcript in a fresh doc.
    * Word also allows you to hear the recording, linked to the timestamp. I don't like the hyperlinks so I just ctrl+a, ctrl+c, and then ctrl+v in a fresh Word doc.
  2. Word does sometimes mess up words, but not so horribly that you can't figure out the actual word... it's just a bit annoying.
