zoom keeps opening in front of other work- not wanting zoom right now- keep closing etc-quit- won't

We just moved to Zoom and it's working better for us than RingCentral but this whole idea about Zoom hijacking the monitor while a call is coming in is  just ridiculous.  You get frozen out trying to click another app until you answer the zoom call or ignore it.
