Old messages deleted

please help me, i was going to check old conversations i had with my friends but messages older than a year have been deleted, even the ones i sent to myself (i used that chat to save things like images) how do i recover them? i tried pressing the "more info" but it just took me to the support page and i cant find a clear answer, i just want my old messages back i always re-read the messages i sent to my old friends because i kinda miss them but now there is nothing at all, im actually going to cry if i cant recover them why does that feature exist and why dont they tell us its there? i would have at least saved the chats but now they're empty

    Hi, there even I am facing the same issue, this feature didn't exist like 3yrs ago, I am a zoom user since 2020, even I used to do this save msgs and stuff...all those msgs were there like until 2022 and maybe 2023 start but then after covid I stopped using zoom and today I just logged in to find this disastrous event...my entire msgs that I had saved up from 2020 is just gone...pls let me too know if you get a solution to recover them😭

    I'm sorry for the late response. By default, the cloud storage retention period for messages is 2 years, but account owners and admins of paid accounts* can change this length of time to as short as 1 day or up to 10 years. Retention period for messages stored in the cloud can be set either at the account level (applicable to all users on the account) or at a user group level (applicable to all users in the user group).

    *Note: For free accounts, cloud storage retention is set to 2 years and cannot be changed.
