Has there been any more development on using custom emoji's in the chat section?

Hi @KariLynn thank you for your question in the Zoom community! Just to be sure we understand, are you wanting to upload your own emojis into Zoom persistent chat? Or Zoom in-meeting chat? Maybe both? We are definitely working to expand the emoji set available with persistent chat and in-meeting chat and it sounds like you would like to be able to upload your own emojis?

Yes, this is a feature our Slack users love. Trying to convert more of them to Zoom chat!

Anything new? We are just switching from Slack to Zoom and this is going to disappoint people. They really want to be able to use custom emojis.

Hello there,

Adding a custom reaction is not yet possible but you may now add a custom emoji to your Zoom Team Chat.

To add a custom emoji to a Zoom Team Chat, you can do the following:

Sign in to the Zoom desktop client
Click the Team Chat tab
Click the emoji icon next to the chat compose box
Click Add to add custom emojis
Drag and drop a custom emoji file or click Choose files to select a file from your system
Enter a name for the emoji
Click Add to upload the emoji

That adds the image as a Sticker, not an Emoji. Clicking the Emoji icon next to the chat compose box does not have the option to "Add" emojis. What version of Zoom Workplace is this method supported, or is there an option in settings that needs to be enabled for this be available?
