Joining a meeting

I host two zoom meetings a week, but when I try to join someone else's meeting, i.e. clicking on their "Join Zoom" link, it opens a new zoom window as if I was hosting my own meeting instead of letting ,me join theirs.  Help

By default, clicking the join Zoom Meeting on the calendar, it will try to open another tab on your web browser and then open the Zoom client if there's one detected on your desktop.
