Chat email address: no option in Zoom client to add?

Hi there,

I was very excited to see that Zoom now has this feature to allow email to pipe to chat channels: https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0076875#h_4032347733321724744556652

However, despite verifying that I have the appropriate client version (both Windows and iOS), I don't see an option in either client to perform this. I also verified that nothing settings-wise (both at the Account and Group-level) would prevent me from doing this.

I do know that we have Advanced Chat Encryption enabled for our account, though I don't see this feature listed as a limitation to the feature. I also know that, settings-wise, we have other security measures enabled, such as preventing non-corporate domains from communicating with our tenant.

Might some other setting be preventing this?

Thank you in advance.

Having same problem. Also have advanced encryption.

  • Disabled advanced encryption. Created a new group and the option to create email address became  available. Email to group also worked fine.
  • Disabling advanced encryption will have no effect on existing group or channel. They will remain encrypted.
  • The channel or group must be created with advanced encryption disabled.
  • After creating the new group I reenabled advanced encryption. The group chat became encrypted but the email address for the group still worked.

  • This could be a bug. The intent is to allow email address even  with advanced encryption. It can be done now but in a roundabout way.

I think this might be a bug as well; I double-checked my settings as outlined in the recommended article, and I'm still not able to change this.

Ideally I would like to avoid having to disable Advanced Encryption to avoid any confusion or concerns in my environment.

checked it out. Settings are fine. Still no option to add email address appearing in group or channel.

Hello @MGSR - thank you for your feedback. Both @relunij and I have experienced the same behavior and it appears to be related to Advanced Encryption being enabled on the account.

If disablement (even if temporary) could be avoided, that would be ideal. Thank you.
