Replies (aka: Threaded Responses) enable you to keep conversations neatly grouped together - so they're easier for everyone to follow. When you hit "Reply" to a post, you're signaling to others in the channel that you're weighing in on the same topic. All the replies stay grouped together under the initial post and can be collapsed for easier viewing.

How come I'm not able to turn this off anymore? There used to be a classic chat option, but it disappeared. I am finding the threads to be very distracting because they always are prioritized in the chat, causing an unnatural flow and allowing participants to stay off track.
