Using Zoom docs for teaching

Anyone been successful at using Zoom docs for teaching? Like giving online lectures and having students do homework using the docs?

I am using Zoom docs for online courses:

  • I prepare the content on Zoom docs
  • use that doc to record my videos
  • use a pdf of the content to share with my participants (using the feature print to pdf)

That has significantly simplified my process.

Some teachers are using Zoom to give online classes, then use Zoom AI Companion to help compose the homework, and quizzes

@Monika13 thanks for sharing! May I ask how do you use that doc to record your videos?

@Monika13 @WmPete, have you tried composing text-based tutorial materials, student FAQs, and class notes based on the online class content? This is how:

Step 1:  Pull up AI Companion in Docs by slash, then look for the sparkle icon and click
Step 2: In the Docs AI Companion interface, you can add custom prompts and tag one or more meetings by '@' on the right. You can also refer to one or more PDF documents.

An exemplary prompt might be:
'if you are a geography teacher, generate a 30-minutes quiz based on the online classes in the tagged meetings, and the info in the tagged pdf docs. Make sure to include topics of aaa, bbb, ccc, etc. Also include the section of date, student name, etc '

Step 3: click the blue button on the far right to let Docs AI Companion do the magic

What do you think of this?

Thank you for your question. This is my process:

  • I open my Zoom Meeting
  • then click on "docs" in the lower bar of the screen
  • pick the doc that I want to show from my list of docs
  • click on "Share in meetings" with "view only" in the drop-down-menue (I am using German so I'm not sure about the exact wording in English)
  • then I see myself on the screen as well as the doc and adjust the screen a bit so that the doc size and the image size are so as I want them to be (very easy to do)
  • and then I go through the doc and present the content.

I like to have the headlines closed and to open them step by step so that people only see the part of the content that is relevant just now.

Hope that gives you an idea.  Feel free to ask additional questions:-)
