Hi Team,

I am unable to find my recordings dated - 26 July 2026, Sunday, 9PM IST - Meeting name - Grand Finale.

I checked my locals and even web and desktop app for recordings but couldn’t find. I have recordings available for previous days from 22th to 25th July, for these dates also I diodn’t do anything extra, recordings happened on their own and were stored to my locals. But I am not understanding why I am unable to find recordings for 26th July, 2026. Is it like conversion didn’t happen or what?

Please assist me.

Regards,

Neha

Hi @Neha Thakkar,
Sorry to hear you're having trouble locating the recording for your Grand Finale meeting. Here are a few things to check:

1. Check the Zoom Desktop App Directly Go to the Meetings (or Recordings) tab in your Zoom desktop app and look under Recorded. See if the 26 July meeting appears there — sometimes the app retains a reference to the recording location even if it's not immediately visible in your file explorer.

2. Check Your Local Recording Folder Navigate to your configured local recording folder — this is typically Documents > Zoom unless you've changed the default path. Look for a folder dated 26 July 2026. It's possible the folder was created but the files are in an unconverted state.

3. Look for Unconverted .zoom Files If you find files named something like double_click_to_convert_01.zoom or other .zoom extension files in that folder, it means the recording was captured but the conversion did not complete. This can happen if:

  • Zoom was closed before conversion finished
  • The system ran low on disk space or memory during conversion
  • There was an unexpected interruption after the meeting ended

Zoom provides an option to retry the conversion — you can double-click the .zoom file.

4. A Few Additional Questions to Help Narrow It Down

  • Were you the host or an authorized participant recording locally?
  • Did you see the "Recording in progress" indicator during the meeting?
  • Did Zoom show any conversion prompt or notification after the meeting ended on 26 July?

These details will help identify whether the recording was captured but not converted, or whether it may not have been initiated at all.

Refer to the troubleshooting steps here.

Hope this helps you recover the recording! 🙂

Hi Neha, That's frustrating enough, particularly if you didn't have any problems with your previous recordings. There is a few things to consider: If the meeting was recorded locally, check the default Zoom recordings folder or for a folder with the same name as the meeting date on your computer, which contains the meeting file. For cloud recording, log in to the Zoom web account to determine if the recording is still processing. Sometimes cloud recordings might take more time than expected. Also ensure that you are logged into the same Zoom account that hosted the meeting as recordings belong to the host account. If you have looked through your local folders and your Zoom account, and you don't see the recording, it may have failed to record or the files were interrupted and could not be completed. If so, I suggest you reach out to Zoom Support and give the meeting ID, date, time (26 July 2026, 9:00 PM IST), and meeting name (Grand Finale). They might also be able to determine if the recording is recoverable. Hopefully you're able to retrieve it. Good luck!
