Canvas integration: Access to vtt files?

Hi,

We have students who would like a downloaded transcript so they can search. We have found the search bar in the right-side transcript that sits alongside a cloud recording to be clunky at best.

We use the LTI Pro 1.3 Canvas integration. Teachers set up meetings through Canvas, then students have automatic access to meeting links and recording assets. But how can we include vtt files in those assets?

Hi @twrosenberger as of today VTT files are not available in the LTI Pro integration. They would need to be accessed via the host's web portal and shared with students manually.

I think this is a great feature request, so I'm going to submit this to our Product team. Thank you!

    Hi,

I was wondering if there is a separate feature request area where I can also submit this? It's becoming more and more important and would be a highly valuable feature. We are at the point where folks are wondering if other meeting providers can make these text files available easier...a conversation that I'd like to avoid!

    Thanks for your help.

Thank you! What we are really trying to get to is a human-readable and CTRL+F -able transcript. I work for a professional school and students need to review recorded lectures and find specific moments. They have found that the search bar at the top of the transcript that sits to the right of the recording does not function well. It seems to struggle with longer recordings, sometimes only shows a few instances of a phrase or word, and is sluggish.

That said, what we really want is for that functionality to be improved. The idea to download vtt files is an attempted workaround.
