Using zoom while also using Remote Desktop causes high cpu and gpu usage and lags

Any ideas? just attending a zoom meeting, while also having a Remote Desktop window open (large screen) and attempting to work in the rdp window causes the GPU and CPU to go extremely high and the zoom meeting to lag.
