Why am I hearing audio while a Zoom Cloud Recording is being trimmed?

This is bizarre. The Zoom trimming is taking place as the note under the screen has alerted me. Several minutes later I begin hearing audio from some of the video that is supposed to be deleted. Does this mean that the Trim Instruction isn't taking? ...
