Online meetings have enhanced my professional life for over a decade. Zoom was way ahead of the crowd when the pandemic hit: I subscribed to a Pro account early in that period. I routinely attend Zoom meetings covering a range of topics, and in a range of roles. I have organized and hosted dozens of Zoom calls for technical meetings related to my core academic/professional expertise. Furthermore, I have served as an interpreter in dozens of Zoom sessions - always hosted by somebody with a more expensive service than my own. I advocate for a lower $ threshold for host (user, account holder) access to Zoom interpretation. The potential here is enormous. If Zoom doesn't move quickly, somebody else will.
