Always display in-meeting chat?

Despite having Slack, we use in-meeting chat a lot as well. Is there a way to configure the meeting window so it comes up with the chat pane already visible and docked?

This mostly obscures the audio and video buttons at the lower left corner. On top of that, it looks bad. I'm a longtime Windows and Mac developer, so I think you need to do more than just get the main desktop size.  I'd start with a search: taskbar ...
