Hi, I have a pro membership. I always share my computer sound (music), via 'share screen' --> advanced options --> share computer sound/ audio. I haven't used zoom for one month. Now this option to share computer sound is no longer available. I have no idea why this has changed.
I have removed and then re-installed the app 'zoom workplace'. I have a MacAir, Apple M1, MacOS Seqoia 14.5.1.

I hope you can tell me how to fix this. thank you so much!

I'm hoping someone can advise me on how to troubleshoot an audio issue.

I have an issue where every so often my Zoom audio will cut out for 1-3 seconds although the video continues. While not frequent, it means I can miss key pieces of information.

(a) This is not a standard connectivity issue -- the video continues without lagging or interruption

(b) This is not a standard speaker/audio source issue -- it lasts only a few seconds and it does not occur on other programs, only on Zoom

(c) This is not an issue with the speaker's audio -- it occurs across a range of meetings I'm in and I'm the only one who experiences the loss

What can I do to troubleshoot?

I was in a Zoom meeting with just my manager this morning — no one else was supposed to be there.

While I was talking, I suddenly started hearing a woman and a child chatting in the call. But here's the weird part: they weren’t part of the call.

My manager kept speaking, but it sounded like he was on mute — not because he was muted, but because his voice was being completely drowned out by the voices of the woman and the kid.

I tried saying hello to them, but they didn’t respond. It was like they couldn’t hear me at all — and I couldn’t talk over them either.

It honestly felt like two totally separate Zoom calls had merged together. I was confused and creeped out.

Eventually, I left the meeting and rejoined — and just like that, everything went back to normal. The woman and child were gone, and it was just me and my manager again.

After doing a little research, I found out this might have been caused by a Zoom glitch — like overlapping audio streams, a phantom feed from another meeting, or someone accidentally joining using a reused link.

Whatever it was, it felt like Zoom accidentally connected me to someone else’s living room. Super unsettling.

Has anything like this ever happened to anyone else?

I am regularly hosting zoom meetings where I share an audio played from a website on chrome.

Last time suddenly my sound was barely hearable to the participants and myself. I checked all sound options on zoom and on my laptop's system settings, without any result. (I checked whether "share sound" was on, tried mono and stereo quality, and zoom has all permissions on my laptop). In a new test meeting, after logging out and creating a new meeting just for myself, it worked fine.

I have never had this problem before. I urgently need a solution as I rely on this function weekly.

I have got a Macbook Air 15.3.2 and Zoom workplace 6.4.6.

I have not changed any settings since the last time it worked fine. The only thing I recently did was clearing cache in Chrome.

As the problem does not occur every time I don't understand it and need a solution. During the meeting I am hosting there is no option to quit the meeting and enter it again, as the participants rely on the host being available throughout (it would throw all out).

I am afraid to reinstall zoom and chrome as I don't want to mess up any further now.

Thanks for your help, I am quite desperate.

Over the last few days, my audio goes out during meetings on my laptop.  It does it on its own.  I am not touching the keyboard at all.   I have not changed any settings.   If I close out the session and relaunch, the audio is good at first but then goes out again.  It takes less than a minute after logging on for it to occur.

I cleared the cache and that didn’t help.  I reinstalled the app and that didn’t help.  My drivers are up to date and I have plenty of capacity on my laptop.  I tried different headsets.  There is no difference, and I can listen to online videos without any problem.  This also happens when I change the source from headset to computer speaker.

I don't have this problem on my other computer.  The maker of the computer with this problem checked it for any errors or settings issues, and nothing was found to be a problem.  Other software programs work fine with audio.  It seems to be specific to Zoom and happens both through the browser and app.

I began noticing only this week that in all my Zoom meetings, I am only seeing closed captions of speakers who have joined from their devices via Zoom, but no closed captions are appearing, nor are being logged in the meeting transcripts, from users who have joined my meetings via the phone-in option?

I believe this was not the case as recently as last week.

I am hearing impaired and rely on CC's in all my meetings.

Share Screen with Sound, Do Not Want To Hear Audio On Sharing Device - Using Mac

I have a scenario where 2 laptops are in the same space, one is hosting and the other is presenting a video with audio. The hosting laptop is connected to the room system, so any audio coming from the host computer will be amplified to the room. This includes any audio that the presenting laptop screen shares.

So to avoid an echo, it would be ideal for the presenting laptop (MacBook) to screen share with sound, but not output audio to the laptop. I want the laptop to only output audio to Zoom. But the volume of the screen shared audio seems to be tied with the laptop output volume. If I mute volume output on the MacBook, the screen shared audio is muted. In the Zoom meeting if I "Leave Computer Audio" the audio is still heard both through the laptop speakers and the screen share.

What I really need in Zoom is a "Select a speaker: None" option. The fix right now is to plug in headphones.

Is there a way to screen share with audio but not output audio to the computer (specifically a Mac)? Thanks!

I use a MacBook Air Mac14,2 on a macOS 15.4.1 with Zoom Version: 6.4.6. Unfortunately, for the past three months, the audio input for the people attending my Zoom meetings has become robotic within an hour of the meeting.

No one else hears the robotic audio except for me. I've uninstalled, reinstalled Zoom, and updated it with no solution. The only thing that fixes the problem is to restart my computer. Which is not ideal to do during a meeting.

Does anyone know a solution to this problem?
