GIFs

Are the use of GIFs available in our Zoom chats?   If not, will they be made available or are they a part of an upgrade?  My job uses MS Teams and GIFs have proven to be a useful addition to the chat.

Hi Jill! Yes, GIFS are available. I use them quite often myself 😊. If you don't currently have them available, you might have to check with your account admin. For more information, check out this article here.

Are they available in Webinar Chat? 

If not, can Zoom please state this on the account settings page.  I've spent an hour trying to figure out why I can't see the option in our Webinars.

Unfortunately, gifs are not supported for in-meeting or in-webinar chat. Zoom currently only supports gifs in the out-of-meeting Zoom Chat.

It would be valuable if support pages included a small note mentioning that this is not currently available in the Chat feature of meetings and webinars.

Yes I also wasted time looking through settings to find that it just is not a feature.

@jchilds @Pavanccteht hello, it is possible to send GIF as part of in meeting chat with Zoom. If you aren't able to use it, the issue should be

1. there is an admin setting disabling the feature. This can be found under Account Settings, the Meeting tab, and look for "gif" or "Giphy" to enable the feature. 

2. if you don't see the setting there is a back end option that can be turned on by our support group. Just enter a support ticket and request that they turn on the ability for you to send GIFs as part of in-meeting chat.
