Zoom Room Check-In Use Case oversight
Hi all, We have recently activated the Zoom Room Check-In feature on a subset of our meeting rooms, and overall I think it works very well. In a scenario where a meeting room is booked with a Zoom Link included, frequently the meeting will not have any remote users (remote users on-site that day, on leave, no requirement to join) - and the meeting will be in-person only (1-1 meeting etc). This is causing frustration to our users as this scenario occurs quite often. Many thanks,
After surveying our end users after a few weeks, the most common complaint is a use case that Zoom have not taken account of.
When this situation occurs, there is no way to check into the meeting. The "check-in" button is not available on the controller tablet/device, as the room assumes that the Zoom Call will be joined.
If the in-house meeting does not have any need for a screen share, the room will not be checked in.
So the only way to check into that meeting, is to join the call and end the call.
I feel like the Tablet Device should have the "join" button AND the Check-In button.
Does anyone know if there is a way around this, or if this is something that Zoom are aware of and the option of the 2 buttons (Join, Check-In) is something that will be released in a later update?
Brian
