I am using windows 10 on a desktop, zoom Version: 5.15.7 (20303). my camera shows a white screen (see below). i use zoom every day, and it has been happening every day. sometimes it resolves itself after some time, other times not at all. i have been using zoom since 2019 on multiple devices and haven't had this problem until this past month when i moved into a new apartment. i am still using the same computer, webcam, etc, i've had since 2021, so it's definitely not the hardware.
previously, when this question has been posted on the zoom community forum, there hasn't been a solution. please assist. thanks

Hey @namelessalexa welcome to the community! I see you're on Zoom Version 5.15.7, as of today, I am running 5.16.1 on Windows 10 with no issues. I am using a Logitech Brio as my camera, I switched between my Avatar and Self-view with my camera and didn't encounter a difference. Could you try Updating Zoom to the latest version or using another camera source if available?

Hello, I also have the same problem as 'namelessalexa', and use a Windows 10 desktop PC. I've been using Zoom regularly since about 2020, and my camera also shows either a white or purple screen, which sometimes stops or sometimes starts again. There was a Windows update recently to my computer, so I wonder if this incompatibility started then, as I have not had this trouble before. Can anyone assist, please?

Hey @marklanguage what kind of camera do you use with Zoom? That being said, I would select 'auto' for any Video Settings > Advanced options in the screenshot below, particularly the 'video capturing method' dropdown options.
Could you please double-check those settings for me to see if re-configuring how video rendering and capturing methods change might help solve the problem? Please make sure your Zoom desktop client is also up to date.

Try updating both Zoom and your webcam drivers. Also, check for any background apps using the webcam and disable them.

I'm using Zoom daily on a Windows 10 desktop, and my camera shows a white screen since moving into a new apartment a month ago. I've been using the same setup since 2021 without issues. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hello Zoom Community,
It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with your webcam displaying a white screen in Zoom. Since the problem started after moving to a new apartment, it could be related to changes in your environment, such as network configurations or lighting conditions.
Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Camera Permissions: Ensure that Zoom has permission to access your camera. You can do this by going to Settings > Privacy > Camera on your Windows 10 computer and verifying that camera access is enabled for Zoom.
2. Update Drivers: Make sure your webcam drivers are up-to-date. You can update them via the Device Manager in Windows.
3. Test with Other Applications: Open your webcam in a different application (e.g., the Camera app on Windows) to see if the issue persists. If it works fine elsewhere, the issue might be specific to Zoom.
4. Reset Zoom Settings: In Zoom, go to Settings > Video and check if the correct camera is selected. Also, try resetting your video settings or toggling options like "Enable HD" or "Touch Up My Appearance."
5. Reinstall Zoom: Uninstall Zoom completely, download the latest version from the official website, and reinstall it.
6. Test Network Settings: Since the issue began after moving, check if your network setup affects the performance. Try connecting to a different network if possible.
Lastly, if the problem persists, you might want to explore alternative video conferencing tools like Magis TV. It's an innovative solution that offers a fresh experience for online meetings, and it could serve as a reliable backup when facing technical issues with Zoom.
Thanks a lot!!
