Hey

At this link:

https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/207347086-Using-Group-HD-video

It says:
"

Note: As our world comes together to slow the spread of COVID-19 and stays connected through Zoom globally, we are working to quickly scale our bandwidth during this unprecedented demand.

For the time being, standard video, not HD video, will be activated when 3 or more participants join a group meeting. HD video (720p) will be activated for 2 participants or when a Zoom Room or Conference Room Connector joins a group meeting. HD video (1080p) will only be activated for selective use cases such as large-format broadcast events. "

So if you have a payed account and you are more than 3 people, you wont get/send HD video?

Best regards

Lars

I was concerned that I would have to find another way to give singing lessons to my student who is 9 hours away because she was not able to hear the higher notes on the piano when doing vocal warmups with me and I couldn't hear her sing the high notes or most notes very well even after she purchased a microphone. And at one point there was an echo.  I am happy to say issues were solved quite quickly when I changed my audio settings and had her do the same.  Here's what worked perfectly for us:

Zoom background noise removal is on

Background noise suppression is low

Advanced Echo cancellation is aggressive

May this be helpful to others who have endured the same issues 🙂

Hi - I'm trying to utilize a 3rd party survey link for meetings and I believed the setting was disabled by our IT team. However, when our IT team looked into it, they said that the 3rd party survey toggle was visible for a few days while they investigated in early January, but then disappeared from their settings at the end of January. They shared a screenshot with me that shows a box that says "Hosts will no longer be able to use 3rd-party survey links in newly and previously scheduled meetings."

Is it true that 3rd party survey links are no longer able to be used at all? Or is it still an option, but the toggle moved to somewhere else recently?

We have a PC running Zoom client (5.14.11, which is another discussion since I do not see this version or the newest version 5.15.5 on Zooms road map list for 2023), a Magewell USB Capture HDMI 4K Plus which shows as a supported device and another laptop connected over HDMI to the Magewell. The Magewell shows up as a second camera feed even though it is supported as a content share device. Magewell is on current firmware.

Are we missing something? A setting or piece of hardware? We have tried this with multiple PCs/laptops with all resulting in the same issue. Any help is appreciated.

RME UFX III causes Zoom to Hang in Audio Settings.

Greetings, when I launch Zoom and open Settings/Audio, I get the spinning beachball and must force-quit the Zoom app. This is due to Zoom not being able to address all 188 channels that the UFX III presents by default. My workaround currently is to run the interface with a USB 2.0 cable that reduces the channels to 60, which creates issues with my other audio apps. Is Zoom aware of this and working on a fix? Thank you.

Hello!

For my job, I use zoom very often and feel pretty confident in trouble shooting. This morning, however, I encountered a new situation that I can't find any information on or how to fix. While the host is screen sharing, little gray boxes are showing on their screen.. I am familiar with if they have the toolbar or participant list up, there is a large gray box. The host still has nothing on their screen, yet these little gray boxes remain. It shows on each slide in the same place too.

Has anyone else encountered this?

I use an external Bluetooth speaker for my meetings on an iPad, have had no issue until I updated to the latest iOS 17 and 17.0.1. iPad connects to speaker fine and no issue with other apps playing through speaker but only WHILE IN ACTIVE MEETING does audio not play through speaker and the option to select a different audio source is not present. I have un and reinstalled the app multiple times, tried multiple speakers, and followed all troubleshooting suggestions with no success. I need the ability to connect to a speaker for my meetings to broadcast audio with quality sound. Any suggestions?? Pulling my hair out over here.

Is there a way to cap the number of participants auto-assigned to Breakout Rooms?

Specifically, I have an upcoming meeting where the specific quantity of attendees is unknown. During the meeting, participants will be small-batched to Breakout Rooms. I'd like to create many rooms and have Zoom auto-assign them to a max per room, regardless of the number of participants.

For instance, say I want four per room. I'd like to create 50 rooms, set a room limit to four, and have Zoom auto-fill each room instead of dividing all partipcants equally across all rooms. 119 attendees fill 29 rooms with four, one room with three, and 20 rooms remain empty.

Yes, I can manually assign (or have a co-host do it), but it'd be so much easier to auto-fill.
